Since 1945, Houston Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union has provided the finest in financial services to the present, former, and retired employees of our sponsor companies listed below. Once you join the Credit Union your immediate family is eligible to join the Credit Union. Our policy is “Once a Member Always a Member” even if you change jobs, retire or move away, your membership continues and you continue to enjoy its benefits.
From time-to-time, the Credit Union's field of membership changes to allow additional groups to join. In 2004 the Credit Union membership has opened to anyone living, working, attending school or worshiping in the zip codes of 77016, 77018, 77022, 77037, 77039, 77040, 77041, 77043, 77050, 77055, 77076, 77080, 77084, 77088, 77091, and 77093.
